Insurer Guardian has appointed Georgia d’Esterre as head of marketing.
Starting her new role on 7 February, d’Esterre (pictured) has almost two decades of marketing experience in financial services.
She is joining Guardian following her November exit from Holloway Friendly after four years at the mutual where she was head of marketing and responsible for their rebrand. In between, d’Esterre completed a short stint on a contract as marketing lead at National Friendly.
Her appointment follows predecessor Rachael Welsh leaving to join insurer Bequest as head of partnerships and marketing in December.
Earlier in her career, d’Esterre spent more than 12 years at Axa, progressing to the role of head of marketing at Axa Life Invest.
A committed member of the Women in Protection network, d’Esterre was asked in December to join its executive committee.
She reports into Jacqui Gillies, marketing and proposition director of Guardian, and has responsibility for the protection insurer’s intermediary marketing.
Commenting on d’Esterre’s appointment, Gillies said she was delighted to welcome Georgia to the team.
“She brings with her a wealth of experience from her career, both from the early days at Axa, through to when she built their Life Invest UK marketing team; and from her amazing work at Holloway Friendly where she successfully repositioned the brand,” Gillies said.
“She’s joining at a busy time – we’ve seen incredible growth over the past year, and look forward to protecting even more families who need cover during 2022.”
