Freedom Health Insurance has taken on EMed as its virtual GP provider, replacing it’s previous provider HealthHero.
The new deal includes other services from Emed including new musculoskeletal (MSK) and mental health pathways.
Freedom Health Insurance told Health & Protection that virtual GP appointments increased by 62% from 2022 to 2023, with MSK and mental health appointments up by 123%.
In response, the insurer said it researched a new virtual GP that specialises in MSK and mental health pathways, “ensuring our clients receive even greater value-added benefits tailored to evolving healthcare needs”.
Through the partnership, Freedom Health members will gain access to the EMed platform, which includes:
- 24/7 virtual appointments: Access to clinicians, physiotherapists, nurses, pharmacists, and mental health practitioners anytime, anywhere,
- Prescription delivery,
- Personalised health insights the the My Health tool,
- Mental health support providing direct access to mental health practitioners,
- Tailored physiotherapy programmes offering customised appointments and programmes aimed at providing faster rehabilitation and better management of musculoskeletal health.
