Global health and life insurance consultancy Milliman has elected Dermot Corry as chief executive officer.
Corry is leader of Milliman’s Dublin office and is the first professional from outside the US to be elected CEO of the firm, beginning his role on 1 January.
He joined Milliman in 2009 following its acquisition of Irish consultancy Life Strategies and succeeds Stephen White, who is retiring.
Corry has served as global life and financial services practice director and on the Milliman board for the last six years.
Ken Mungan, chairman at Milliman, said: “Dermot has been a leader since the day he joined Milliman, bringing an essential vision as we’ve evolved to become a global firm.
“Dermot is the ideal person to assume this role at this moment of immense change and opportunity, with data and technology revolutionising the way our clients do business.”
Corry added: “Milliman provides crucial expertise to our clients, playing a vital role in protecting the health and financial wellbeing of people everywhere.
“We are in an era of unprecedented uncertainty that calls for unique awareness of risk.”
