Benefits and engagement platform Happl has hired Luke Prankard as head of sales.

Prankard (pictured) is moving from Telus Health where he was head of sales and alliances for EMEA, having joined following the firm’s acquisition of LifeWorks in February of last year.

He joined LifeWorks from Thomsons Online Benefits where he was practice lead, health and wellbeing and worked as a sales consultant at Unum UK earlier in his career.

Elaborating on his new role, Prankard told Health & Protection that as well as leading sales at Happl, his new role sees him take charge and manage the insurance benefits for clients on the platform.

Prankard said he had “personally added over 650,000 individuals” to the business and had “led the sales team in EMEA to achieve 171% sales growth in the last year”.

“By utilising technology as a force for good, this has really improved how employees access benefits from their employers and the value it can bring to their everyday life – alongside tangible benefits for the business too,” he added.

But Prankard noted that one area he feels that initially had a huge investment many years ago, and has been lacking for a while, is the wider employee benefits ecosystem.

“The employee benefit platforms in the market today just put a digital front door on a very traditional employee benefits package – which sadly is very un-personalised and disengaging for the workforce of today, let alone of the future,” he said.
