HCA Healthcare UK will open an £18m, 20,000 square foot outpatients and diagnostics centre in the heart of Canary Wharf early next year.
The facility will be an expansion of services currently delivered at 2 Upper Bank Street which will be less than 200 yards away, and will meet the growing demand for private healthcare from the area’s professional and residential populations, the hospital group said.
Services will include GP-led health screening, specialist consultant-led outpatient clinics and fertility expertise, and on-site imaging and diagnostics such as early pregnancy scanning, mammography, x-ray and MRI scans.
The centre will be run by London Bridge Hospital, extending its range of outpatient access points that also includes HCA UK City of London and HCA UK at The Shard.
Patients requiring onward referral for both routine and complex care across a range of sub-specialities will have access to London Bridge Hospital and HCA’s wider network of hospitals and specialist clinics.
John Reay, president and CEO of HCA Healthcare UK said the £18m investment reflected the growing demand for private healthcare.
“From complex care to GP services and outpatient and diagnostic care, our ambition has always been to ensure we can care for a patient no matter what their health need and in locations they can access quickly and easily,” he said.
“Our expansion in Canary Wharf will be a strong development in the HCA Healthcare UK network.”
