Health & Protection unveils first UK provider Service Ratings

Health & Protection is launching its inaugural provider service ratings for insurers in the UK health and protection markets.

The research measures the service performance of all the key providers across the UK individual private medical insurance (PMI) and individual protection sector.

Providers giving the best service to advisers and intermediaries have been awarded coveted Five Star and Four Star Ratings.

The Exeter received the highest score from advisers in the PMI market while Guardian was top in the protection market.

The Health & Protection UK Service Ratings are based on independent market research conducted with more than 130 verified advisers, brokers and consultants.

In overall terms, advisers and intermediaries working in the UK individual health and protection sectors appear largely satisfied with the service being received from the insurers and providers they work with.

Three individual PMI insurers and two individual protection insurers received scores over 80.

Health & Protection editor Owain Thomas said: “Service is vital to the adviser-provider relationship.

“Poor service can cost advisers time, money and the goodwill of their clients, which is why it is such an important factor in product recommendations.

“These ratings support advisers in understanding what they should expect from providers and enable them to see how their own experiences compare to those of their peers.

“Hopefully this report will improve understanding of what advisers want more of and where providers should focus their resources.

“Congratulations to those providers earning Five Star and Four Star Ratings.”
