Stuart Tragheim is stepping down as Holloway Friendly CEO after seven and a half years in the role.

The mutual revealed Tragheim will step down at the end of the month and move to begin a portfolio career of non-executive directorships or consulting positions after Easter.

Tragheim is a member of the Financial Conduct Authority’s smaller business practitioner panel and the Association of British Insurers protection and health board as well as a board member of the Association of Financial Mutuals.

He was previously a business development director at Equiniti, distribution director at OneFamily and a director of corporate partnerships at LV= earlier in his career.

Tragheim said: “Late last year we developed a new, exciting five-year strategy for the society, which the board fully supports.

“I believe that it is in the best interests of the society for the board to find a new CEO now so that he or she has the best opportunity to deliver the whole strategy with their executive team rather than joining part way through the implementation stages of our new strategy.

“Serving as the society’s CEO has been an honour and a privilege and I am genuinely humbled by what we have managed to achieve over the past seven and a half years.

“We have grown and modernised a small friendly society, built a brand and a great team, completed a complex IT transformation programme, developed new propositions and services for our supporting advisers and our members and built an enviable reputation for service quality, especially around claims management.

“I would like to thank all of my colleagues for their unwavering support, commitment and enthusiasm over the years.”

Derek Wright, chairman at Holloway Friendly, added: “I would like to thank Stuart for everything he has done for the society over the past seven and a half years.

“Under his leadership, the society has changed out of all recognition and is now well-placed to continue on its growth trajectory. We wish Stuart well for the future.

“We will now begin the process to find a new CEO.”
