Howden has announced the appointment of Patrick De Baets as CEO, Howden Belgium, effective immediately.

De Baets has more 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, having held senior leadership roles across Belgium and Europe.

He joins Howden from Foyer Assurances, where he was the country director for the Belgian business from 2017 to 2025.

Prior to that he served as CEO of Touring Assurances (Axa Group) and BNP Paribas Cardif Belgium.

De Baets said: “Joining Howden is an exciting opportunity to be part of a company that is reshaping the insurance landscape with energy and purpose.

“Its entrepreneurial spirit, ambition, and people-first culture are what drew me to this role.

“I’m looking forward to driving the next chapter of growth in Belgium, leading a highly capable local management team, and collaborating with colleagues across Europe to build on the great momentum already underway and deliver real value for our clients and partners.”

Enrico Nanni, CCO of Howden Europe and chairman of Howden Belgium, added: “Belgium is a key market for Howden, and Patrick’s appointment reflects our long-term commitment to investing in local leadership and expertise.

“His deep knowledge of the market and proven leadership make him the right person to lead our next phase of growth in the region.

“He will be supported by a very strong and experienced management team that has been instrumental in driving the business’s performance over the past four years. We are delighted to welcome him to the Howden family.”
