HSBC Life Singapore has appointed Ruhil Bairagi as chief operating officer, effective from 1 August.

Bairagi (pictured) was most recently global head of insurance operations and business management for HSBC, based in Hong Kong,

He brings more than two decades of international experience across life, health and general insurance, spanning operational transformation, contact centre management, and digital enablement, the insurer said.

Before joining HSBC in 2019, he held senior roles with the likes of Axa, Zurich and MetLife in the Middle East.

Reporting to Harpreet Bindra, chief executive officer of HSBC Life Singapore, Bairagi will be responsible for leading operations and transformation across HSBC Life Singapore’s life, health, and general insurance portfolios.

Bindra said: “I’m pleased to welcome Ruhil to my leadership team. His global outlook, deep subject matter expertise in operational transformation, and passion for innovation will be instrumental as we scale company operations to support the next phase of our growth.”
