HSBC Life UK has promoted Richard Waters to head of protection distribution.
Waters (pictured) has spent more than 30 years at HSBC having started as an insurance broker at the bank in the early 1990s.
Previously national account manager protection distribution, Waters was named interim head of protection distribution before being given the position on a full time basis.
He will lead the protection intermediary distribution team, overseeing key distribution relationships and a team of experienced business development professionals across the UK.
HSBC said Waters’s primary objective is to develop existing and new strategic relationships, delivering training and education to advisers, empowering them to provide optimal protection solutions to their customers.
His previous senior positions in HSBC’s mortgage intermediary and group insurance businesses include as senior product manager, senior manager and senior beuisness development manager.
