Global insurance broker Hub International has acquired the assets of US employee benefits agency Western Assurance Corp.

An independent agency based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Western Assurance provides insurance solutions, including commercial and personal insurance, and employee benefits services.

It specialises in the non-profit sector, the construction and transportation industries. Hub said this supported its specialty practices by complementing and strengthening its existing capabilities.

Terms of the transaction including the value were not disclosed.

Randy Perkins, president of Hub Southwest, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the Western Assurance team to Hub.

“They are all incredibly talented, and their breadth of experience will deepen our capabilities in the region as we continue to grow to serve our clients’ evolving needs.”

Chris Williams, president of Western Assurance, who will join Hub Southwest following the deal, added: “The opportunity to work with other industry-leading specialists across Hub is very exciting as we look to continue to grow and broaden our resources and services for our clients.

Western Assurance was represented by consulting firm Mystic Capital for the transaction.
