The Income Protection Task Force (IPTF) has announced the second edition of its Income Protection Awareness Week is set to return from 19 to 23 September.

The IPTF confirmed the week will aim to increase awareness of the need for IP using the #LetsTalkIP hashtag and unite the industry around a shared goal to grow IP sales.

The body will also be producing materials for advisers new to income protection as well as those looking to improve the effectiveness of their protection conversations.

The week will involve a series of live online events, delivering a range of content including live panel discussions, case studies, useful tools, tips and shareable material.

It aims to support advisers to have more IP conversations with new and existing clients and help grow their understanding of the importance of IP cover.

All events will be free to view.

IPTF co-chair Jo Miller said: “We were thrilled with the success of the first Income Protection Awareness Week (IPAW) and received feedback from IPTF members and advisers suggesting it should be repeated.

“We’re already working with members and organisations across the industry to build on the successes of the 2021 event so that IPAW 2022 is even bigger and better.

“The need to protect people’s incomes is greater than ever and we recognise the need to support advisers in having effective conversations with their clients.”
