The Income Protection Task Force (IPTF) has revealed two new members will be joining the body next year along with a successor for the retiring Neil McCarthy on its steering group.
The IPTF revealed the new members are Swiss Re and MetLife, taking its total number of members to 18 full and associate members.
Last month Cirencester Friendly announced it will be joining the trade body next year.
The IPTF also revealed that the Openwork Partnership’s Setul Mehta is to succeed Neil McCarthy on its steering group at the end of the year as he retires.
Looking ahead to 2022, the IPTF announced that it will hold a a second Income Protection Awareness Week (IPAW) following a successful inaugural event this year and will continue to engage with customers including work on Ziggy’s Money Moves and a focus on underserved markets for IP.
It also plans to conduct relevant research to inform these initiatives and to run events to enable ideas and challenges to be shared to support the successful growth of the IP market.
Commenting on the new members, Jo Miller, co-chairwoman at the IPTF, said: “We’re delighted to have increased and broadened our membership this year.
“It’s a show of support for the changes that Andrew Wibberley, Katie Crook-Davies and I have implemented and encourages us to progress with our plans for 2022.
“As well as a wider membership, we’ve been delighted with how engaged our membership have been. We look forward to working with all members in the year ahead to continue to raise awareness and sales of income protection.”
