The Income Protection Task Force (IPTF) is to introduce weekly income protection (IP) focused training content delivered by its AI service with the first session set for next Wednesday (14 January).

The IPTF also confirmed three new members for 2026 – PG Mutual, Hannover Re and Walsham Brothers – taking its membership to 35 organisations.

Detailing plans for the year, the body committed to increasing the amount of work it will be undertaking in its government and regulation workstream in response to the publishing of the Financial Inclusion Strategy last November.

And it will be looking to reach beyond the industry with a message about the importance of individuals protecting their income.

IPTF MD Jo Miller confirmed to Health & Protection members have been given a preview and that every Wednesday the IPTF will release a short 90 second video across its social media platforms.

The clips, presented by Airi, will share key insights about income protection dealing with topics like what is mutuality? what is business protection? what is value added benefits?

Miller added these clips will be augmented with an academy reinforcing these areas of teaching, offering a supporting 30 minute technical training guide which will be released at the end of the month.

Looking ahead to 2026, IPTF added it was excited to work closely with its members on a wide range of new and evolving initiatives designed to increase awareness, engagement and ultimately the uptake of protection.

This will include the return of Income Protection Action Week, its 7 Claims Stories series, and the Let’s Talk IP podcast.
