Royal London has appointed Jane Guyett as non-executive director.

Guyett (pictured) has held senior roles with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London and New York and was chief operating officer (EMEA and Asia) of the Global Markets Group. She has also sat on the board of Bank of America Securities.

She is senior independent director of UK Government Investments Limited and until 2018 was a non-executive director of UK Financial Investments Limited, advising the UK government on its shareholdings in FTSE financial services companies.

Guyett also joins Royal London’s nominations and governance committee and remuneration committee.

Commenting on Guyett’s appointment Kevin Parry, chairman of Royal London, said: “I am delighted to welcome Jane to the Royal London board.

“With her wide-ranging financial services knowledge and extensive experience of remuneration requirements and the operational challenges of large institutions, Jane will bring significant insight and a strong contribution to our board debates.

“Her appointment continues to broaden the make-up of our board and diversity of our thinking. Following her appointment, the board’s composition is evenly split between men and women.”

Guyett added she was very pleased to be joining the insurer.
