Ken Norgrove, CEO UK & International, at RSA Insurance part of the Intact Group, has been appointed deputy president of the Association of British Insurers (ABI). He takes up his role with immediate effect.
As deputy president, Norgrove (pictured) will work alongside ABI president Tim Bailey to engage with key stakeholders and act as a lead voice for the sector.
As a part of his role he will also sit on the ABI’s Consumer Committee and Appointments and Remuneration Committee.
He brings more than 35 years of experience in the insurance industry and has led some of the firms most ambitious ventures and important business turnarounds.
He succeeds Clare Bousfield, former CEO, retail and savings, M&G. She stepped down from her role at M&G last autumn but remained as the ABI’s deputy president while the ABI’s Investment Delivery Forum picked up pace. She will continue to play a key role with the Forum going forwards.
Baroness Nicky Morgan, ABI chairwoman, said: “I’m delighted to announce Ken Norgrove as the new ABI Deputy President.
“Ken’s insight and experience will be an asset to the organisation as we strengthen our expertise and focus on the commercial insurance sector.
“From cyber to climate change, he will certainly help steer us through the challenges that lie ahead, which will benefit so many of our members.
“I’d like to express my gratitude to Clare for her support over the past year, in particular for her contribution to our Investment Delivery Forum.”
Norgrove said: “The insurance industry plays a vital role underpinning the economic health of the country by enabling people, businesses and society to prosper in good times and be resilient in bad times.
“I look forward to bringing my experience from RSA, one of the country’s largest commercial insurers, to help the ABI and our various stakeholders navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
