Guardian marketing manager Laura Mitchell is leaving the world of protection insurance to join VodafoneThree as a campaign specialist.
Mitchell (pictured) joined Guardian and the protection sector over the summer of 2021 as marketing consultant, was promoted to senior marketing consultant in 2023, and marketing manager at the beginning of last year.
Recruitment is underway for her successor, led by head of commercial strategy, Rachael Welsh.
Welsh said: “Laura has been such an important part of our team over the last five years and has made a brilliant contribution to the Guardian brand and everything we’ve achieved along the way. She’s also used her voice to put a spotlight on the importance of young people getting protection, becoming a real advocate for it across the industry.”
A multiple industry award winner, Welsh hailed the energy, passion and talent Mitchell brought to Guardian.
“I’ve loved working with her over the last five years and will miss having her as part of the team,” she continued. “We’re all excited for her and can’t wait to see what she does next as she starts a new chapter outside the protection industry.”
Mitchell added that while she was excited to be moving on to a new chapter outside of the protection industry, she is sad to be leaving Guardian and the people who have made the last five-and-a-half years special.
“I’ve had a great time at Guardian, learnt lots along the way and had the pleasure of working with some really wonderful people,” she continued. “I’m particularly pleased to have had the opportunity to contribute to important conversations across the industry, especially around engaging young people in protection and how we can better serve them as consumers. It’s a topic I care deeply about, and I know the team at Guardian will continue to champion.
“A big thank you to everyone at Guardian, and to everyone across the wider industry who’s supported me over the years. I’ve really appreciated it and will take lots of great memories with me.”
