Legal & General Group Protection has added a range of on demand services to its group income protection (GIP) Virtual Clinic for members and their families.
These services include online physiotherapy from Teladoc Health, long-term general health and wellbeing tools and resources from HCI Digital, and a digital health and wellbeing platform and app through it’s employee assistance programme (EAP) provided by Spectrum.Life.
The physiotherapy service provides access to a qualified physiotherapist through a video link, or over the phone if preferred, without the need for a referral from a GP.
It is available through the Health365 app and portal from Teladoc Health, which also hosts the insurer’s virtual GP and mental health services,
After assessment and diagnosis, a treatment plan is designed, with links to appropriate exercise videos and further follow-up sessions depending on clinical need.
General health and wellbeing tools and resources have also been added to the service’s ConnectPlus app from HCI Digital. This sits alongside existing self-management support for a number of long-term health conditions. Topics include attending hospital, women’s health, men’s health, healthy lifestyles and carer support.
Earlier this month Legal & General announced the launch of Spectrum.Life as its EAP provider for a range of support and wellbeing services as standard across all its group risk products.
For the Virtual Clinic, this incorporates live and on-demand fitness classes, self-guided mindfulness and meditation, nutritional wellbeing pathways, mental health eLearning, as well as money saving tips, guidance, rewards and online shopping discounts.
