Advice firms Aceso Health & Group Risk and Mattioli Woods have joined the Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries (AMII) as new members.
The pair joined in the last month and follow Friarsgate, Voyager and UK Global Healthcare who signed up to the body in the last quarter.
AMII now represents approximately 120 intermediaries, insurers and providers across the health and wellbeing sector.
Mattioli Woods, established 30 years ago by Ian Mattioli and Bob Woods, has offices across the UK. The business started in a converted garage and has since grown to incorporate 650 employees.
Edward Watling, senior employee benefits consultant at Mattioli Woods said: “We are delighted to have been accepted as a member of AMII.
“The focus of employee benefits is increasingly fixed on employee wellbeing and membership of AMII gives us the opportunity to contribute towards the development of the industry.”
While directors and experienced employee benefits specialists Mike Picken and Louise Pratt are at the helm of Aceso Health & Group Risk, the firm is backed by insurance specialist Joe Henderson who sold his previous business to US giant Aon in 2017.
Picken said: “We felt it was important to join AMII with its kudos and good standing in the industry, and we’re especially impressed with its lobbying and work to tackle issues that affect our clients.
“It really is the voice of the industry and something we wanted very much to be a part of.”
Commenting on the new members, AMII executive chairman David Middleton (pictured) added: “We’ve had a brilliant couple of months with new members at AMII.
“It feels like there’s real momentum in our industry at the moment, with a lot of people keen to join us in driving change and pushing things forward.
“As a body, we’ve got some clear aims for the year ahead which really resonate with people, and we’re also working to make sure we give back to members and ensure people want to be a part of what we’re doing.
“We’re really pleased to welcome Aceso and Mattioli Woods and we’re very much looking forward to bringing all members together at our November Summit.”
