Maxis Global Benefits Network (Maxis GBN) has today joined with virtual care platform Abi Global Health to offer employees access to on-demand healthcare professions, wherever they are in the world.
The Abi platform connects patients to a local healthcare professional in 40 seconds or less, using artificial intelligence (AI).
Abi’s on-demand virtual care platform offers a range of options for employees to access both physical and mental healthcare using various methods including text, phone or video consultations.
Abi’s allocation algorithm aims to ensure that the best available healthcare professional is selected for each patient in seconds, providing near-instant access to healthcare, 24 hours a day.
Its AI-augmented care also seeks to ensure the delivery of quality professional healthcare that is cost-effective, helping multinationals look after their people, while managing their costs.
Abi operates locally in more than 40 countries across six continents and delivers its services in 24 languages.
Kim-Fredrik Schneider, co-founder and CEO at Abi said, “At Abi, our mission is to use technology to solve the chronic under-supply of healthcare professionals globally.
“In the post-Covid world, virtual care is more in demand than ever before, and our solution ensures the delivery of fast, cost-effective, and high-quality professional healthcare.
“We’re excited to be working with Maxis GBN, helping their multinational clients to provide on-demand healthcare to their employees around the world.”
Dr Leena Johns, chief health and wellness officer at Maxis GBN said, “In a digital age where tasks like booking airline tickets and ordering food can be effortlessly done via smartphone apps, accessing high quality healthcare should be just as easy.
“The claims data we collect from our insurance partners shows two clear challenges.
“Firstly, there are difficulties in accessing quality healthcare which means patients have to travel further to receive treatment of a high standard, or settle for sub-par services closer to home.
“Secondly, there’s an excessive reliance on specialists for issues that primary care doctors could handle.
“This causes potentially avoidable costs due to unnecessary tests and the cost of specialist’s time.
“Virtual care, particularly with AI integration, effectively addresses these challenges by increasing the accessibility of quality healthcare and reducing the healthcare costs associated with this reliance on specialist care.
“That’s why I’m delighted that we are adding Abi to our wellness technology marketplace to help our multinational clients tackle these challenges.
“Working with Abi is a great opportunity for employers to ensure that they are supporting the mental and physical health of their people, with a technology-first approach to healthcare.”
