Geoff Maggs has joined specialist healthcare intermediary Medical Expenses Consulting as head of international clients.

Maggs (pictured) began his career in private medical insurance (PMI) began in 1990 working for Bupa, then BCWA. In 2001 he moved to international PMI (iPMI), joining Allianz Worldwide Care.

Maggs has also enjoyed spells with other international insurers including Bupa Global and AXA Global Healthcare.

Established in 1993, MEC has offices in the South East and Manchester and provides advice to individual clients as well as helping companies to help develop bespoke health and wellbeing strategies.

MEC managing director Ian Holmes said: “We’re delighted to have Geoff onboard to help develop our international benefits portfolio. He brings with him 19 years’ iPMI and employee benefit experience, having worked for some of the biggest names in the industry. We believe demand for international employee benefits will increase in 2021 with opportunities for UK companies to develop new markets on the back of major new trade deals being negotiated by the UK Government.”
