MetLife is expanding its employee benefits offering to the Irish insurance market, with group life cover available to employers and employees in Ireland from today.

It will be distributed exclusively through brokers.

The insurer’s group life cover provides financial protection for employees’ families in the case of a bereavement.

The launch includes the insurer’s 360Health suite of value-added services for employees which include unlimited virtual GP access and wellbeing support, while a master trust is also available.

MetLife Group already employs nearly 200 people across its European head office in Dublin and its campus in Galway.

Wayne Gibbons, Ireland country lead, said: “Group life is about more than a pay-out. It’s about giving employees peace of mind, helping families through the hardest moments and giving employers confidence that their people are supported.

“Our goal is to deliver the highest standards of service to Irish employers and employees, combining strong local knowledge with international expertise, while raising the bar on what workplace benefits can offer in Ireland.”

MetLife Europe, trading as MetLife, is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.
