MetLife UK hires Rachel Wood as head of product from AIG Life

MetLife has appointed Rachel Wood as head of product and data, ExCo at MetLife UK. 

Wood (pictured) started on 24 June and will use her role to deliver propositions and take full advantage of new data opportunities, MetLife said.

She has a strong background in both individual and group protection and previously worked at AIG Life for more than seven years with her most recent role there as head of group pricing. 

Other roles at AIG Life included assistant director of risk, head of value management, and research and deputy chief actuary. 

Prior to that Wood worked at MunichRe for eight years as senior pricing and product development actuary and also worked for Ellipse and LV=. 

Wood said via her LinkedIn: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as head of product, ExCo at MetLife UK.

“[I’m] excited to join the MetLife family and this next stage of my career, with lots of happy memories working at AIG Life”

Dominic Grinstead, CEO, MetLife UK added on LinkedIn: “Great to welcome Rachel Wood FIA to MetLife UK.”

Having graduated from Sheffield University in mathematics, accounting and financial management Wood pursued her actuarial qualifications and is a member of the Institute of Actuaries.
