MetLife UK is expanding its group life EAP, which will now cover all employers with up to 1,000 staff.
Until now this benefit was only available to its SME client base, and was offered to group life clients who had no more than 300 employees.
This service can be accessed through MetLife’s My Health Advantage app or via an online portal. The assistance focuses on physical mental and financial wellbeing support. This EAP is offered through the third party, Health Assured.
MetLife says it has offered this service for five years, and it is now confident in its ability to expand this service and make it available to other clients. MetLife said that Covid-19 has underlined the importance oft staff support services such as EAPs.
Recent research undertaken by MetLife showed employees are increasingly looking for additional protection from their employers as a result of the pandemic.
MetLife employee benefits director Adrian Matthews says there has been a “shift in mindset” towards benefit packages with around two-thirds of employers “confirming that current employee benefit packages are being changed to support employee’s needs as a result of the pandemic.”
He added that EAP services can also help support employees as they begin to transition their working arrangements, with starting to return to the office.
