More than 300 attendees have signed up to a “protection academy” event being hosted by inancial adviser network SimplyBiz Group this month.

The half-day event, set to take place on 11 December, will feature Ken Davy (pictured), chairman of The SimplyBiz Group and Robert Sinclair, chief executive of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, as keynote speakers.

In addition, the event will include presenters from Aviva, VitalityLife, Swanland Mortgages, Moneysworth, Caspian Insurance and Legal & General.

The event has been designed following member feedback and includes sessions on changing client needs, soft skills, operating in the virtual world, entering the rental market and economic and market updates.

It will also offer a combination of traditional platform presentations, panel debates and interactive Q&A sessions.

Makayla Everitt, head of SimplyBiz Mortgages, said: “The appetite from advisers and brokers to develop their knowledge and skills in the protection market has grown significantly during 2020, and this event offers first-class insight and education from industry renowned figures.

“The past few months have been challenging in various ways, and concerns about financial stability, job security and both physical and mental wellbeing have been brought to the forefront of many clients’ considerations like never before.

“I feel it is testament to financial services professionals that protection is currently taking centre-stage, and that advisers and brokers are working hard to ensure they can meet their clients’ needs, and deliver peace of mind when it comes to protecting them, and their families.”

More information about the event is available here.
