Pacific Life Re hires global chief underwriting and claims officer from Swiss Re

Pacific Life Re has appointed Jia Yi Tan as global chief underwriting and claims officer, based in the company’s Singapore office. 

She succeeds Andrew Doran who has taken on the role of CEO at UnderwriteMe, the Insurtech subsidiary of Pacific Life Re. 

Tan has close to 20 years of experience across Asia Pacific, Europe and America, including the last five years with Swiss Re.

Andrew Gill, executive vice president of global protection at Pacific Life Re, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jia to our global protection executive team.

“In a rapidly changing environment, Jia’s skillset is well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities this affords, enabling us to further leverage our  differentiators to add value to our insurance partners.” 

Tan added: “I am excited to be a part of Pacific Life Re’s growth ambition and culture of pursuing innovation and excellence. 

“I’m looking forward to leading the global underwriting and claims function, working with our talented teams to continue providing clients with outstanding reinsurance solutions and services.”
