Perci Health will be delivering expert-led cancer education through the JAAQ (Just Ask A Question) workplace platform.

The move aims to directly address a social media “misinformation crisis” identified by Perci Health in its Generation Risk report.

With research showing that one in three social media articles about common cancers contain misinformation, and misleading content generating higher engagement than factual information, the firm said the partnership would provide clinically validated video content delivered through JAAQ at Work.

Through the partnership, a broad range of Perci Health’s clinical professionals, including cancer nurses, onco-psychologists, physiotherapists, psychosexual therapists, dietitians, will provide evidence-based content across prevention, treatment, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.

This includes Dr Richard Simcock, chief medical officer at Macmillan Cancer Support, who partners with Perci Health to underscore the importance of credible, specialist-led education in the workplace.

The content has also been designed to meet the needs of younger employees, who are seeking workplace health education in engaging, bite-sized digital formats rather than through traditional materials or GP consultations.

Significant knowledge gaps

The report found significant knowledge gaps among younger employees – the demographic group experiencing the fastest rise in cancer incidence.

A further study from YouGov reported that 40% of Gen Z (born between 1997 and 2012) in the UK now get health and wellness information from social media, almost as many as those who turn to doctors or health professionals (47%), compared with just 22% among older generations.

The partnership aims to directly address the issue of digital platforms becoming the primary source of health information and the associated rise of online misinformation risks by ensuring credible, clinically validated information is available in the digital spaces where younger audiences are already seeking guidance.

A further goal is to address a clear mandate from employees highlighted in the report, with two-thirds of workers aged 25-44 wanting cancer education integrated into workplace wellbeing programmes and six in 10 saying they would be more likely to engage with prevention initiatives if delivered at work.

Scale of the problem

Morgan Fitzsimons, co-founder and chief customer officer at Perci Health (pictured left), said: “The Generation Risk report showed us the scale of the problem. This partnership is about delivering the solution.

“Digital platforms have a vital role to play in improving understanding, reducing fear, and helping people take informed steps towards prevention and recovery—but only when the content comes from trusted clinical sources.”

Dr Simock said: “Making trusted, evidence-based information accessible at scale is vital to counter misinformation and support early detection.

“This collaboration ensures that when employees search for cancer information, they find credible clinical voices rather than unverified claims.”

Zoe Allcott-Wells, head of customer success at JAAQ, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Perci Health to bring these powerful new conversations to JAAQ.

“Cancer impacts so many aspects of life, from physical recovery and nutrition to intimacy and mental wellbeing, and Perci’s expertise helps us meet people where they are, with support that is both practical and deeply human.

“Adding this content means our clients can offer their teams even greater reassurance, guidance and hope when they need it most.”
