Stephen Hough has joined GRP-owned Premier Choice Healthcare (PCH) as managing director.
Hough’s appointment follows on from Premier Choice’s acquisition by GRP Group last year.
Hough, whose most recent role was as business director at Towergate Health, spent 24 years as chief executive of T F Bell Group, prior to its acquisition by Towergate.
His appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
Hough will work alongside Claire Ginnelly, who has been managing director of PCH for six years, until August, when she will move into a new role as executive director focusing on external partnerships. She will be responsible for day-to-day insurer relationships, public relations, working with industry bodies and looking for future growth opportunities.
Commenting on his appointment, Hough said: “I am delighted to be joining Premier Choice and working with Claire and the team as the business continues its growth strategy as GRP’s healthcare hub.
“It’s a business with a great reputation and an exciting future and I’m looking forward to being part of that. I had intended to retire but this was an opportunity I could not miss.”
Ginnelly added: “Stephen brings with him a wealth of experience in the healthcare sector which will be great for PCH as we build on our successes and drive to move the business forward.”
The pair will report into Stuart Grieb, GRP’s retail managing director for the South, who added: “We’re fortunate to have such a breadth of experience and expertise leading our healthcare hub.
“Our aim for the healthcare market is to mirror the acquisition and growth success we have had in UK retail commercial and personal lines broking – PCH has already got us off to a great start and they’re now in a great position to continue building on that.”
