Premier Choice promotes Perkins to MD as Hough takes acquisitions role

Premier Choice Healthcare (PCH) has promoted Darren Perkins to managing director from sales director, succeeding Stephen Hough, who is stepping aside to focus on strategy and acquisitions.

Perkins (pictured) joined PCH in August 2021 from Towergate Health & Protection where he was head of SME account development.

He has also worked at Jelf as a private healthcare specialist and at Simplyhealth as a claims supervisor over his more than 30 years in the sector.

Hough has been MD since April 2021 when he succeeded Claire Ginnelly following PCH’s acquisition by GRP Group in 2020. GRP subsequently rebranded to Brown & Brown in September last year.

On his new role, Hough told Health & Protection this morning that he would be taking on the role of director and his focus will mainly be on acquisitions and general strategy.

Perkins’ appointment was announced at PCH’s recent annual sales conference where it also confirmed that Debbie Leggatt would succeed Teresa Ostle as operations director.

Perkins said: “I am delighted to take on this role, and the opportunity to have worked with Stephen and be a part of the strategic plan for the business have well prepared me.

“I am looking forward to leading the team as we work to achieve our next goal.”

Hough added: “It is fantastic to see the succession planning we’ve done continue to take shape. Darren has been working alongside me over the last three years, and we are confident that he will do great things in his new role.”
