Specialist managing general agent (MGA) Risk Assurance Management Ltd (RAM) has announced a strategic collaboration with mutual Shepherds Friendly and global reinsurer SiriusPoint.

Expanding on the partnership, a spokesperson for the companies told Health & Protection it is designed to further develop RAM’s existing portfolio of UK group risk business, which currently includes life and critical illness products.

“With Shepherds Friendly as the underwriter and SiriusPoint as the reinsurer, the partnership will expand RAM’s breadth of operation in the market with enhanced products and underwriting with competitive pricing,” the spokesperson said.

“As a result, group risk brokers will have access to enhanced product, underwriting pricing and more employees across the UK will be able to benefit from RAM’s group policies, as well as enabling employees to access medical advice when they need it through addition of the 24/7 VGP and second medical opinion services.”

The collaboration also brings with it a new add-on benefit to an existing group risk product health and wellbeing proposition through HealthHero, offering a 24/7 virtual GP service, alongside a second medical opinion service.
