Reassured has appointed James Turnbull to the newly-created post of chief digital officer (CDO).
The broker firm said the move was intended to strengthen the executive team in line with new product offerings and strategic business objectives.
“As the company’s first ever CDO, James will work with the board to assess and improve how customer data is safely collected and used to make important decisions about how Reassured does business with its customers,” it said.
“This will include looking at how operations can be streamlined, identifying new products as the company diversifies and improving user experience, as well as helping find ways to increase efficiency and profitability.”
Turnbull (pictured) has more than 20 years’ experience in the sector and joins from travel insurance provider Staysure Group where he was chief digital and information officer.
He has previously led the digital team at Domestic and General, where his role was to maximise digital opportunities across 11 different markets, and held similar roles at British Gas and The AA.
Reassured CEO Steve Marshall said Turnbull had shown an impressive track record already successfully heading up the digital transformation of huge FTSE businesses.
“Going forward, our digital offering will be at the heart of that strategy to give all customers the most appropriate and efficient service,” he said.
“With James’s determination to drive innovation and all the experience he brings to the table, we’re confident that he will make a huge impact to the business as we look to diversify our offerings even further in the new year.”
Turnbull noted the business was looking to create multichannel experiences to help customers get the best deals across several products.
He added that the business was focused on new ideas and had much potential and maximising this potential was his main priority.
