Reassured life and critical illness (CI) insurance customers received £40,271,300 in claims pay outs in 2022 with a further £12m more still under review across its insurer panel.
AIG Life accounted for more than £18.3m of the claims paid while Legal & General paid out more than £12.4m to Reassured customers.
The broker firm said the figures surpassed 2021’s claims total by £10.8m.
According to the life insurance broker’s 2022 data, an average of 92 families per month were helped as a result of the claims, with 1,107 payments secured: up by 134 from the 973 paid in 2021.
Phil Jeynes, director of corporate strategy at Reassured, (pictured) said the promises made to its customers remained the primary concern.
“These statistics show that we are delivering on those promises and we are extremely proud to be helping so many people in their most difficult moments,” he said.
Ali Crossley, managing director, distribution at Legal & General, said: “We are proud to have stood in partnership with Reassured in delivering at the point of claim for so many people. These results illustrate the value of protection and helping people to plan for the unexpected.
“We are committed to offering support for customers when they need it most, and we look forward to continuing our partnership and reaching even more people together.”
Vicky Churcher, outgoing intermediary director at AIG Life, added the claims numbers bore out the value of the relationship – helping customers when they needed it most.
