Reframe Cancer has appointed Emma Thomson as head of commercial partnerships and Nikki Cannon as director of clinical affairs.
Thomson (pictured left) has been a consultant at Reframe for almost two years, with Cannon stepping up from head of clinical operations to take on her new role.
Thomson will focus on expanding access to Reframe’s detection and support services among insurers, companies and distributors.
Cannon (pictured right), a nurse with more than 30 years of cancer care experience, will lead Reframe’s clinical engagement with charities, professional bodies and healthcare networks.
Going Further
These announcements come a week after Russell Young left Reframe where he had served as commercial director for almost 18 months.
He has since started a position as director of sales and account management in the UK for Further, an insurer, where he worked for almost three years before joining Reframe in June 2025.
Transformation
Thomson is the founder and chairwoman of the Women in Protection Network. She also sits on the board of the Protection Distributors Group.
Her previous experience includes spending 18 years at LifeSearch, where she became life office relations director.
Thomson was also a product strategist at British Friendly and head of product development at Sesame Bankhall.
Cannon spent almost seven years as a special adviser at Macmillian Cancer Support and was transformation lead for personalised care and cancer survivorship at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
Right support, right time
Thomson said that having worked as a consultant to Reframe for almost two years she has seen first-hand the value Reframe Cancer’s services provide to individuals, families, employers and insurers.
“I am delighted to be joining the team permanently and look forward to building partnerships that enable more people affected by cancer to access expert, personalised support when they need it.”
Cannon added that everybody’s experience of cancer is different, which is why clinically led, personalised support is so important.
So through her new role she will build on the team’s work with clinicians, health systems and other charities.
“My focus will be on ensuring everything we do is shaped by clinical evidence, helping more people access the right support at the right time, from understanding their cancer risk through to treatment and beyond.”
