Rutherford Health – the cancer specialist which works with a number of the UK’s private medical insurance providers – has entered into a deal with NHS England to provide treatment and diagnostic imaging services to NHS trusts and clinical commissioning groups across the country.
The agreement is for a two-year period with an option to extend for a further two years on the agreement of both parties. Services will be provided at a pre-agreed set of prices.
Rutherford Health operates a network of independent cancer centres, called the Rutherford Cancer Centres. There are currently four centres in Wales, Resading, Northumberland and Liverpool.
The centres offer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy and high energy proton beam therapy, as well as a range of diagnostic services.
It currently provides services to the majority of Britain’s PMI providers, in addition to self-pay patients and those whose care is funded by the NHS.
