Simplyhealth has launched a digital-first workplace dental cash plan plan designed to give employees improved access to dental services.
The Simply Dental plan offers five levels of cover, each with different limits and levels of cover, and can be offered as a stand-alone benefit or with other plans, the insurer said.
It did not provide any details of pricing or premiums to Health & Protection.
The plan helps with the cost of up to two regular check-ups and two visits to a hygienist each claiming year. The annual limit for check-ups ranges from £40 to £110 for each examination. The annual limit for each hygienist appointment is between £50 and £130 depending on the level of cover chosen.
It also provides up to 100% (up to annual limits) of the cost of essential dental care such as fillings, extractions, X-rays, scans and prescriptions.
The annual limit for essential care is between £300 and £800, with lower limits for periodontal treatment, depending on the level of cover chosen.
Up to 80% of the cost of complex care is also covered with the annual limits ranging from £300 to £2,200 with lower levels capped for orthodontic treatment.
Accident and emergency cover is also provided for emergency dental treatment of up to £400 each time for a maximum of two appointments, dental accident of up to £2,500 each time for up to four incidents, and mouth cancer up to £20,000.
There is a hospital cash benefit of £100 each night for up to ten nights each claiming year.
There is also the option to add a partner or child to the policy.
Employees can use any NHS or private dentist and have access to worldwide dental emergency cover and a 24/7 dental emergency helpline.
They also have access to a range of on-demand discounted and self-pay health and wellbeing services, from at-home diagnostic testing to eye care.
Marc Singh-Jones, head of commercial product and partnerships, said: “Employers recognise the value that workplace health benefits provide, not just in attracting and retaining staff, but ensuring their workforce has access to preventative healthcare.
“A healthy workforce takes fewer sick days, is more productive, and feels happier at work. We have developed Simply Dental, our new digital-first workplace dental benefit, to be affordable and flexible to meet the needs of different businesses and their diverse workforces,” he said.
