Sri Lankan life insurer Softlogic Life Insurance has appointed Sanjaya Mohottala (pictured right) and Lalith Withana (pictured left) to its board as independent non-executive directors.

The pair succeed outgoing directors Ray Abeywardena and Sujeewa Rajapakse who stepped down from the board on 30 June 2021 after serving the statutory period of nine years.

Mohottala was previously managing director and partner at Boston Consulting Group in Singapore and was responsible for deploying resources, client portfolio management, development of practice areas and people development.

Meanwhile management consultant Withana has more than 25 years of experience in organisation development, business transformation, finance, human resources, manufacturing, supply chain, market development, public sector and project management, the firm said.

He has held directorships at Bank of Ceylon, Seylan Bank, Dankotuwa Porcelain and Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka.

The appointments are subject to the approval of the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL).
