Chennai-based Star Health Insurance has announced the appointment of two employees to the board – chief operation officer (COO) Amitabh Jain and chief marketing officer (CMO) Himanshu Walia.
Jain is now a whole-time director and designated as key managerial personnel.
He has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, and has been COO since 2023.
Jain was a founding member of ICICI Lombard and worked there in Mumbai for more than 21 years.
Walia has also been elevated as a whole-time director and designated as key managerial personnel.
He has more than 22 years of work experience in the insurance sector and has been with Star Health Insurance since 2007, serving as the CMO.
He has played a pivotal role in building the company’s brand and market presence. Prior to joining Star Health, he held leadership roles at ICICI Lombard and Tata AIG.
Star Health Insurance has a multi-channel distribution network with 913 offices, with more than 14,000 network hospitals, over 7,75,000 licensed agents and some 17,000 employees.
