Stonebridge chief executive Rob Clifford has been appointed on to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Smaller Business Practitioner Panel.
Clifford (pictured) has led mortgage and protection network Stonebridge Mortgage Solutions since 2019, having joined the firm’s board in 2015.
It authorises and supervises more than 500 smaller advice firms and also provides support services to more than 400 directly authorised advisers.
Clifford’s appointment to the 13-member panel was confirmed by the FCA at its November board meeting and he will hold the role until 30 November 2025.
His previous roles include managing director of Virgin Money, director at West Bromwich Building Society, and CEO of Mortgageforce, and he was deputy chairman of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI).
The regulator also appointed Vanguard Europe managing director Sean Hagerty as a member of the FCA Practitioner Panel from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2025.
Hagerty will join the 12 other members of the panel which include its chairwoman and Direct Line Group CEO Penny James, and Aviva group CEO Amanda Blanc.
