Teladoc Health UK appoints Brown as commercial director from Unum

Teladoc Health UK has appointed Steve Brown as commercial director.

Brown (pictured) joins following eleven-and-a-half years at Unum, where he was most recently key account director, working closely with employers and advisers across the employee benefits and workplace health market.

In his new role, he will be responsible for leading Teladoc Health UK’s commercial strategy, overseeing business development and account management, strengthening relationships with employers, insurers and intermediaries, and identifying new routes to market.

His appointment comes as the firm continues the expansion of its virtual clinic proposition, invests in its commercial capabilities and targets further growth across employer, insurer and intermediary partnerships.

Georgina Howe, CEO and UK country manager at Teladoc Health UK, said: “Steve brings extensive experience of the employee benefits market alongside a strong understanding of the challenges employers and advisers face when trying to improve workforce health.

“The market is moving beyond simply providing more health benefits. Employers increasingly want services that work together, engage their people and demonstrate that they are making a measurable difference.

“Steve’s experience will be hugely valuable as we continue to grow Teladoc Health UK and work with more organisations to deliver accessible and integrated healthcare to their people.”

Steve Brown, commercial director at Teladoc Health UK, said: “Employers are asking increasingly sophisticated questions about healthcare: not only whether a service is available, but whether people use it, whether it connects effectively with the rest of their benefits and, ultimately, whether it improves outcomes.

“Teladoc has an opportunity to bring genuinely joined-up healthcare to a much broader section of the UK workforce, and I’m looking forward to working with the team, our clients and partners to build on that opportunity.”
