Bluecrest has shed further light on its Work Health Confident tool aimed at helping intermediaries identify their clients’ biggest health risks
Work on the tool was first revealed by Dr Martin Thornton, chief medical officer at Bluecrest, at a roundtable the health screening company held over the summer where Thornton told guests that it would enable users to access a website, enter their profile and gain key insights on their business.
Four categories
Demonstrating the tool during a launch webinar earlier this week, Thornton further revealed that it enables intermediaries to enter details such as industry type, the size of the company (from as low as 20 employees), workforce age profile and gender mix, company location, their current health provisions, as well as their biggest concerns about their business.
The tool then assesses the organisation’s risk against four categories – metabolic, cardiovascular, cholesterol, and mental health.
Intermediaries using the tool are then given details of the health screening company’s packages, with an option for Bluecrest to develop a full proposal detailing all of the findings in a report format.
Conversation starter
“When I started to look at the data that we had and started to notice the differences among sectors, men and women and geography, it made me think that what we need is a bespoke and tailored programme, but also something that can show employers what’s going on in their workforce,” Thornton said.
“Because we have this rich data set, we can use some of their key figures, so for example we can look at what sector they’re in, the size of their workforce, the male/female split, the geographical split, the age of the workforce, and we can effectively predict and play back what we would anticipate what we’re most likely to find which is the key thing because most employers and most of us don’t quite know what we’re going to find, and how significant the risk is.
“This tool really helps with that conversation showing people based on the grounded data, data-led decision making to help businesses decide to make an investment in their workforce in this way.”
