Telus Health has launched Telus Health Wellbeing in the UK, which will sync with a wide range of popular wearable health devices.
The service, available through a health benefits programme, is powered by machine learning and is described as a preventative health solution that uses the COM-B behaviour change model – an evidence-based approach for enabling behaviour change.
It syncs with more than 300 wearable health devices, including Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit and Garmin, offering digital tools and resources aimed at supporting a more personalised journey for employees.
The system aims to educate, engage, support and inspire individuals to improve their health through behaviour change and achieve their personal wellbeing goals.
The system will allow real-time health risk assessment, with other capabilities including:
- Personal goal setting and tracking of activity to help build and maintain healthy habits;
- The ability to measure overall health with a wellbeing score;
- Collaboration tools to connect with colleagues by sharing tips, ideas and photos in social streams and platform-based communities; and articles and videos that cover physical, mental, financial, and dietary health.
The system can be customised to meet the needs of client companies and complements Telus’s established employee assistance programmes (EAPs), virtual care, virtual pharmacy and mental health counselling services.
