Towergate Health & Protection employees are helping to beta test financial wellbeing app ZavFit.
The app aims to help people with their money fitness and tackle the impact worrying about finances has on health, the firm said.
Hundreds of staff including advisers at the firm will have access to the app which creates a personalised MoneyFitness programme for each user, designed to take the feelings of guilt and anxiety out of spending.
Towergate staff join employees at insurer Lloyd & Whyte and thousands of other people taking part in the beta testing.
The app was built by behavioural scientists, psychologists and neuroscientists and put into beta in January.
Anna Freeman, founder and CEO of ZavFit, said the two businesses were strongly aligned on the urgent need for a preventative solution to money stress.
“Money has continuously been ignored as a fundamental health issue. Money is the number one cause of mental health issues globally,” she said.
“Together we are here to change that by providing a financial wellbeing solution designed to deliver health outcomes.”
Iain Laws, CEO of Towergate Health & Protection, added: “Mental health has been rightfully rising up the agenda for businesses for some time now and with the unprecedented situation we face resulting from the pandemic, more has to be done to support staff during this unique time.
“By partnering with ZavFit we are signalling to employees and customers that financial wellbeing is a critical aspect of overall health. We are pleased to be joining the Beta community.”
