Trawick launches IPMI product for Latin America and Caribbean

Trawick International has launched an international private medical insurance (IPMI) plan for Latin America and the Caribbean with a new product focused on global expatriates in development.

The US-based insurer’s Plan VIVA is designed and available for residents of Latin America and the Caribbean.

It is the first IPMI product from Trawick International LATAM region, but not the first for the company.

Through Tuman Global Solutions, a division of Trawick International, the firm also provides international group health, life, and disability for expatriates, with options for local nationals.

And Tuman said it will soon launch a new IPMI product focused on expatriates around the world.

David Capote, president of Trawick International LATAM, told Health & Protection: “We have recently launched Plan VIVA in several key markets, and the product has been well received.

“It is the only modular product in the region today that allows the client the flexibility to adjust certain key components of their coverage, such as deductibles, max coverages, and USA networks, to meet their specific budget and needs.

“We are also the only company offering a good health discount which can be applied on a yearly basis to those that qualify,” he said.

Silver anniversary

The product comes out as Trawick celebrates its 25th anniversary, with more launches planned.

“We have worked hard over the years to build strong relationships with major global insurance carriers and reinsurers, and even established our own insurance company so that we can offer a wider range of international insurance products and services,” Capote said.

“This latest product is an exciting next step in our continued diversification strategy and helps to extend our global footprint.”

Qualifying Plan VIVA clients are offered a premium discount when purchasing the plan, which can be maintained on annual renewals by meeting programme requirements.

Preventive screenings and health check-ups are available, and members are encouraged to take advantage of them to support optimal health and detect issues early.

Plan VIVA also offers customisable coverage with four levels, accommodating various budgets and needs.

“We knew from the outset that we wanted to bring something unique to the international health insurance market and go beyond the traditional offerings found in most plans,” Capote said.

A quoting platform allows agents to choose the policy’s maximum coverage, USA network if required, and deductible combinations for their clients.

“We have taken a long-term approach in order to create a sustainable pricing and service model which l believe will transform how our agents and clients view international private medical insurance,” Capote said.
