UnderwriteMe has announced that Paul Hughes has joined as head of Asia-Pacific, a new role created within the business to lead the technology specialist’s teams in Asia and Australia across all functions.
Hughes (picturted), who has been tasked with designing and implementing a strategy for the Asia-Pacific region over the coming years, has worked in the life and health industry in Asia for over 25 years.
He is an underwriter by background and has held a number of senior roles at Swiss Re, Aviva, AIA and most recently MetLife. These include positions such as chief marketing officer, group head of product, claims & operations transformation and chief underwriter.
Hughes will report to CEO James Tait and join the senior management team at UnderwriteMe.
He said: “The platform [UnderwriteMe] is market-leading and the future product developments are exciting. With automated structured evidence assessments being developed and text mining projects to explore other potential technology solutions, UnderwriteMe is a great place to be joining.”
