Unum UK has launched a digital platform enabling its group protection and health cash plan employer customers to access service usage data and health trends.

In addition to product-specific content, UnumSync users get on-demand insights on Help@hand use, access to wellbeing content and responses to everyday questions via a live chat function.

The insurer said it would mean reduced admin and more actionable insights for employers and their advisers. Existing customers can register for early access today on the insurer’s website.

The development follows Unum’s online employer portal launched for group protection customers last year.

Saumya Barber, head of proposition development at Unum UK (pictured), said the platform would make it easier for people managers to access the insights they need to stay ahead, make smarter decisions, and focus on what matters most – their people.

“With limited visibility into emerging health trends and multiple products and systems to navigate, businesses are struggling to anticipate issues and make proactive decisions that help keep employees in work and get them back to work faster,” she said.

“As rising sickness absence continues to impact productivity, employers need a smarter way to streamline support and drive positive outcomes.

“Employers want to support the health and wellbeing of their workforce and prevent issues before they escalate, but without the right tools it’s difficult to turn benefit investment into impact.”
