Unum UK has appointed Will Major (pictured) as chief change officer from Prudential, as the insurer announced a significant investment programme.

Major’s remit in the newly created position will be to deliver sustainable and long-term growth by partnering with brokers to reinforce the insurer’s market position.

Unum added it will be increasing investment in growth driven initiatives across core markets by fivefold going forward as the pandemic continues to underline the importance of having quality employee benefits in place.

Major joined from Prudential where he was chief transformation officer for Africa having led implementation of a digital health, wealth, and SME ecosystem across eight markets in the region.

In addition to numerous leadership positions over 13 years at Prudential, Major has also previously worked for management consultancy Accenture.

Mark Till, CEO at Unum UK, said: “Will is a highly capable leader with extensive experience in transforming businesses and overseeing large scale digital enhancements.

“With a history of delivering strategic change and digital transformation, Will’s appointment is an exciting one for our business as we commit to more investment in growth initiatives – and comes at a time when employee benefits are higher up on the agenda of UK workplaces than ever before.”
