Employee benefits provider Unum UK has added digital dentist Toothfairy to its dental offering.
The move means Unum will be introducing Toothfairy to all new and renewing Unum dental clients from 1 May.
The app provides insured employees access to dentistry services, support, and guidance for everyday preventative dental care and routine treatment, plus Unum’s wider services.
The integration of the Toothfairy app into the Unum Dental offering is an exclusive arrangement within the dental insurance market.
Services include:
- Unlimited use of a 1-2-1 chat helpline with qualified dentists who are available in-app seven days a week, core operating hours 9am – 8pm (response time within 24 hours)
- Virtual exam and real-time dental symptom checker
- Video consultations
- Discounts on cosmetic treatment
- Access to Unum’s Wellbeing Calendar
- Dentist-led emergency appointment finder
- Everyday discounts via “retail discounts and savings”

“It’s designed to make dental insurance and treatment quicker, more affordable, and stress-free for 21st-century living.
“And with preventative services being key to reducing the need for more intensive and costly treatments, we’re delighted to offer a new holistic and progressive approach to dental care to help create and maintain happy, healthy, and productive workforces.”
Dentist, digital health leader, and Toothfairy CEO Dr. Deepak Aulak, added: “During a national dental crisis, we see our digital dental solution as complementing Unum’s dental product, helping its customers get better access to a dentist and improving their oral, and overall, health.
“We are excited to offer our evidence-based solution to make a real impact, especially as many dental diseases are preventable and early intervention is key.
“This is an industry first in the dental insurance sector, and we feel our mission aligns closely with Unum’s own in improving its customers’ health.
“In a first-of-its-kind partnership, Unum Dental policyholders will now benefit from an on-demand digital dentist, in-app assessments, e-prescriptions, clinic referrals, and discounted cosmetic treatments—all through the award-winning Toothfairy app.”
