We hope you can join us for our next Academy event which takes place on Wednesday 5 June at 10:00am: Register now.

In the UK, 60% of small business managers say they have or would find it hard to talk to employees about their cancer diagnosis and treatment and 47% have not received any training to help support employees with cancer in the workplace.

By failing to create supportive environments for employees coping with cancer, small businesses risk decreased productivity, increased absenteeism and poor reputation.

It is essential for small businesses to understand the significant role they can play in supporting employees dealing with cancer, both in their mental and physical wellbeing.

This not only fosters a sense of value for employees but also enhances loyalty, productivity, and reputation all of which positively impacts business growth.

What to expect from the event

During this virtual event, experts Laura Plumpton, Clinical Case Manager at Bupa and Laura Williams, Head of Partnerships Legal Team at Worknest will be discussing how small businesses can cultivate supportive and positive workplaces for employees navigating cancer.

Guest speakers Deborah Sparks, founder of The Thoughtful Potter and Rosie Wolfenden, Co-founder of jewellery brand Tatty Devin, will share their lived experience of dealing with Cancer.
