Vitality has appointed Simon Jacobs as life underwriting service director.
In his role, Jacobs (pictured) will be responsible for steering the life operational underwriting strategy across the UK and South Africa, including the day-to-day management of the adviser servicing function.
Jacobs joins from UnderwriteMe where he was director of business development.
His other previous roles include underwriting and claims director at Aegon, business development underwriter at Munich Re and head of underwriting operations and strategy at Axa UK.
Vitality said Jacob’s newly-created role will drive the business’s servicing strategy forward, including the delivery of a new life underwriting and servicing system.
Jacobs will also lead Vitality’s quote to cover strategy, looking at the ease of doing business, and will report into group adviser operations director, Lara Fascione.

“Simon’s extensive skillset and knowledge of the protection market, and specifically underwriting, make him exceptionally well-suited to drive our underwriting strategy forward.
