William Russell is introducing a virtual GP service, preventative and mental health support as well as help expats stay safe on assignment as part of a range of new complimentary digital services to all members.

The Elevate package includes four services which are provided by Teladoc Health, Telus Health and Solace Global.

It will be delivered across four service categories – health, mind, wellbeing and safety – and has been shaped by broker feedback and market insights, the insurer said.

From 1 January 2026, Elevate will be included as standard and as complimentary with all William Russell insurance policies, including international health, life and income protection policies, and across all tiers of membership, including group and family policies.

It will be available from existing policyholders’ next renewal date in 2026, and to all new policyholders immediately.

Health

My Global Doctor from Teladoc Health enables members to book a video or phone consultation with a physician when most convenient for the patient. During the consultation, the doctor will quickly understand the patient’s needs and offer advice, guidance, and personalised support. This may also involve issuing referrals, sick notes and prescriptions, subject to healthcare regulation.

Mind

Members will have 24/7 access to confidential counselling sessions via Telus Health Engage – a personalised wellbeing platform designed for both employees and individual members to build healthier habits through wellbeing support.

Wellbeing

Through the Telus Health Engage platform, members can set personal goals, link their wearables to track progress, and stay motivated to reach their wellbeing goals. The platform’s rewards program, features discounts and prizes with the aim of helping turn healthy habits into lasting ones.

Safety

Solace Secure from Solace Global provides global intelligence, 24/7 monitoring and alerts, plus practical guidance on local healthcare, cultural do’s and don’ts, and key emergency contacts when they need them most.

William Russell added it will talk with brokers regarding the proposition, with training provided to ensure benefits can be communicated to clients.

It will also communicate directly with new and existing members to guide them through benefits.

Members will receive welcome communications with all the details they need to access their applications and log in to their new accounts at the start of their next policy.

Inez Cooper, founder and managing director of William Russell, said: “We’re giving our members the tools to live healthier, happier and safer lives abroad – helping them achieve the expat lifestyle they’ve always dreamed of, anywhere in the world.

“This launch is about taking expat insurance to the next level by making it more supportive, more intuitive, and more rewarding.”

William Cooper, director of William Russell, said the move was a huge step forward for the firm.

“We’re bringing to market a membership proposition that you’d normally associate with a large insurer, and we’re making it available to all our members – individuals, families, and employees,“ he said.

“We’ve picked our service providers very carefully, skipping the traditional EAP-style services and instead investing in a gamified wellbeing platform and video-based counselling service that our members will actually use and value.”

Teresa Wighton, commercial director at William Russell, (pictured) added: “With people being much more health conscious, we’re delighted to be providing our members a truly digital wellbeing offering that is engaging and that will provide them with content relevant to their wellbeing goals and needs.

“The online access to trained counsellors will also provide our customers with a confidential and discreet service to support their mental health concerns. Together with the newly available telehealth service we’re making access to health and wellbeing simple and easy for our members.”
